Kylie Jenner Admits She Didn’t Become Billionaire All On Her Own
Kylie Jenner has admitted she did not become a billionaire all on her own; she did have help.
Forbes recently named the Kylie Cosmetics founder the youngest self-made billionaire. She dethroned Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
However, the honor was immediately met with controversy over whether or not Jenner could genuinely be called self-made. After all, she came from a wealthy family that afforded her certain opportunities and connections other people in her position did not have when starting a business.
In a recent New York Times article about the business side of the Kardashian and Jenner family, Stormi’s mom addressed her current title and the backlash surrounding it. The 21-year-old was honest about the fact she didn’t earn the honor all on her own.

“I can’t say I’ve done it by myself. They’re just talking finances, technically, yes, I don’t have any inherited money. But I have had a lot of help and a huge platform,” Jenner shared with the newspaper.
Jenner acknowledged she was fortunate when it came time to develop her cosmetics line. She knows she was given opportunities other people may not have because of her name, being on a reality TV show and her massive social media following.
When she started her business, it was merely because she loves make-up and was looking to create her own company, as well as a separate brand outside her famous family. Forbes naming her the youngest self-made billionaire in 2019 was something she never perceived, or dream would happen.
“I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future. But the recognition feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back,” the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star explained to the New York Times but also made it clear she used her own cash, not her family’s to create Kylie Cosmetics.

Kylie Jenner is fully aware she did not earn her self-made billionaire status without help. Although financially the money is all hers and was made based off of her hard work, the beauty mogul understands she was in a very fortunate position.
It is essential to remember Jenner’s empire is not just Kylie Cosmetics. Her fortune is from two reality TV shows, various product endorsements, as well as her Kendall + Kylie clothing line and her partnership with Adidas.
What do you think about Jenner’s admission? Does she still deserve the self-made billionaire title?
