Drake Congratulates Zendaya Following Her History-Making Win At The Emmys!
It’s no secret that Zendaya made history by being the youngest winner of the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award at the Emmys! That being said, many were happy and excited for her, showering the 24 year old talented actress with love and congratulatory messages and one of them is none other than Drake!
As you know, the trophy came for her amazing role as Rue Bennett on HBO’s Euphoria.
The rapper just had to celebrate Zendaya, taking to his IG Stories to share a pic of her taken while accepting her Emmy and alongside it, he wrote: ‘@Zendaya @euphoria it was a LOCK… congratulations.’
Aside from being the youngest recipient of an Emmy in that category ever, Zendaya is also only the second Black woman to receive it after Viola Davis got it in 2015 for her iconic How To Get Away with Murder role.
Zendaya took to her own platform to acknowledge the win as well, writing: ‘Still on cloud 9… so grateful, speechless, to all of my friends and family who have texted / tweeted / called, I promise that I will get back to you tomorrow when I have wrapped my head around this night, until then… I’m gonna go to sleep and make sure this is not a dream.’
Other names, aside from Drake, who sent love to Zendaya after her big win include her Euphoria co-stars, Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, and Barbie Ferreira.
And as if her historical win was not enough to get her a lot of attention at the Emmys, Zendaya managed to stand out through her amazing fashion as well!
The actress rocked two different looks during the awards show, one she had on while presenting and another when she received the award herself!
The first was a stunning purple and black dress paired with a purple jewels necklace.
As for the second look, and the one who pretty much became viral, she wore a custom Giorgio Armani Privé black skirt with pink polka dots that she paired with a gorgeous bandeau completely covered with pearls and crystals.
