Porsha Williams Posts Tear-Jerking Clip Of Her And Others After Arrest -- Calls On Followers To Continue Pushing For Justice For Breonna Taylor
Porsha Williams has been getting into some 'good trouble.' The Bravo star with an activism gene that has been activated to its fullest took to Instagram after she was released from jail for the second time while protesting the murder of Breonna Taylor.
Porsha Williams, Tamika Mallory, Trae tha Truth, and Yandy Smith were among those who were arrested while protesting with the Until Freedom organization in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star urged her fans to join her for the demonstration on the 25th. The day of the protests, she shared videos and images of the people she was with.
Just hours later, Porsha and around 60 other people were arrested.
After she was bailed out, Porsha shared a tear-jerking clip of her and others that were detained singing behind prison doors.
She captioned the clip saying that her heart was heavy.
The RHOA star went into more detail in another post.
'We will walk this faith walk and stand y’all in our purpose as we face the darkness! God will BREAK EVERY CHAIN this system has on his people! I am but a vessel, a messenger here to put them on notice of what’s to come. I am a servant of God’s people. I may be criticized, I may be outcast by some, but I know standing with my people and all people who fight for humanity, that my blessing and protect will be given to me when the time comes. My heart is heavy knowing that even as we fight for justice for our beloved Breonna Taylor, more Black men, one being Jacob Blake, is still being brutalized in the streets of America!'
Williams went on to passionately say: 'I know at this very moment that myself and everyone reading this has been given an assignment! You must search your soul and decide to receive it and activate the activist in you! Get busy, get active, get informed! Whatever your gift is, we NEED you to be a part of change, we need you to believe that love is an action word and show it!!Find a way to see yourself in the movement and get busy! We are standing at a fork in the road of life or death. Silence and complacency will lead to more death! It’s time to wake up!'
It's beautiful to see the woman that Porsha has grown into but sad to see that she (and countless others) are fighting to dismantle an oppressive system hundreds of years in the making.
