The Riverdale actress made it very clear on Twitter that she would never actually open up to the world about a breakup. That being said, she slammed a ‘clickbait’ story about her split from Cole Sprouse .

Lili Reinhart decided to address a rumor that was sparked by a new interview she gave.

Earlier today, a new article appeared that was titled ‘ Lili Reinhart 's Been Through Heartbreak. She Wants to Tell You About It.’

Well, it turns out that Lili Reinhart does not agree with that headline because she definitely doesn’t want to tell you about it!

But after checking out the article, fans started speculating that one particular part was about her and Cole Sprouse ’s split back in May.

The actress talked about her poem collection, Swimming Lessons, stating that: ‘I felt the need to write that because I was scared—and I'm scared—that people are going to try to create their own idea of what my love life looks like. I am not saying, ‘My boyfriend f**ked another woman.' I am saying, ‘I felt betrayed.’’

As you can imagine, that part of the interview was easy to misunderstand and so, when it started making headlines, Lili took to her platform to set things straight.

‘Quotes [that were] taken from my very most recent interview are not about any ‘breakup.' They are about the depression I have felt over these last few months. [I am] Tired of people taking my words out of context and piecing together their own story just for clickbait. I would never speak so candidly about something as personal as a breakup. That is incredibly private. I was addressing my depression,’ she tweeted, making it very clear that her words had nothing to do with Cole Sprouse .

What do you think about the confusion and her explanation?
