The TV personality is one of the many who are mourning the unexpected passing of actor Luke Perry at the age of only 52 year old. Earlier today, Live co-host Kelly Ripa broke down in tears as she honored the Riverdale star on the show.

As you probably know, Luke Perry passed away yesterday, March 4, after suffering a severe stroke less than a week earlier.

Now, Kelly Ripa made sure to pay tribute to him since they were friends.

As she opened up about the actor, Ripa chocked up: ‘It’s a tough day around here, it really is. We lost a great friend and a great guy. Luke Perry passed away yesterday very shockingly. And I'm still stunned. I woke up this morning thinking there had to have been a mistake.’

Kelly was affected quite a lot since Perry and her husband, Mark Consuelos starred together on Riverdale.

Actually, Ripa herself was part of the show!

‘They’re the dads and they really spent all their time together on that…set,’ the woman went on to say about the two men’s bond.

And that was not all! Kelly wanted to share a sweet story that featured her chatting with the now late actor on FaceTime when Mark was on set.

Apparently, Ripa still associated Perry with the character that got him famous in the 90s, Dylan McKay, from Beverly Hills, 90210.

That being said, ‘Mark would FaceTime me because he knew that I just never got over the whole Dylan McKay thing, and every time he would FaceTime me and Luke was there, I’d say, ‘Hang on. Let me get lipstick.’ I have to say, he was a good, good man. You will not see a person say otherwise. He is a good man and a good soul. Conscientious, a gentleman, dear friend of our family, of the Live family.’

As she went on to pay her condolences and honor Perry’s memory, Kelly’s eyes got teary, obviously deeply affected by the shocking death.
