Offset Blasts Wiz Khalifa Over Social Media Post Involving Cardi B
Hot New Hip Hop said today that there is a feud brewing between Wiz Khalifa, Offset, and Cardi B, however, the sad part about it is that Wiz apparently wasn’t trying to shade anyone when he tweeted out a message that many interpreted as an insult to Cardi B.
According to the outlet, Wiz Khalifa responded to a tweet in which a user questioned whether The Recording Academy knew anything about music following the news that Cardi was nominated for a Grammy Award whereas Nicki Minaj wasn’t.
Reportedly, Wiz said in response to the tweet that “most self-made artists have this problem,” and many believed it was a direct shot at Cardi B. Since then, Cardi B and Khalifa have reportedly been in a subtle beef, with Khalifa answering to many of her fans, including the “Bodak Yellow” rapper herself.
Hot New Hip Hop says Offset got involved as well. “N*ggas be hoes!! Smh,” the rapper wrote. While it’s not clear who or what Offset was referring to, most have assumed it was a shot at the “Black and Yellow” performer.
As most know, this wouldn’t be the first time The Recording Academy was in the news this week related to their upcoming Grammy Awards in 2021. The Weeknd addressed the fact he wasn’t nominated this year with a post in which he said the Academy was “corrupt.”
He went on to claim that they owed him, the industry, and his fans, “transparency.” The CEO of The Recording Academy even came out with a statement to Billboard in which he empathized with The Weeknd and also admitted he was surprised over having heard that Abel Tesfaye wasn’t nominated.
Harvey Mason Junior, the CEO/President of the organization, claimed he was trying to understand where The Weeknd was coming from, but he was “sad” to hear that he called The Academy “corrupt.”
The Weeknd released a new album this year, After Hours, which included the hit single, “Blinding Lights” which dropped back in 2019. After Hours was released in March of 2020.
