Following reports of the Australian wildfires wreaking havoc in the nation, many celebrities have announced they were donating significant resources to several fire-fighting agencies. Reportedly, Leonardo DiCaprio is another star to contribute to the cause, Page Six has learned.

In an Instagram post yesterday, Leonardo revealed that his environmental association, Earth Alliance, would help the Australian Wildfire Fund raise money. Moreover, the Earth Alliance also dropped $3 million to help the cause.

In the caption of the post, DiCaprio, Laurene Powell Jobs, and Brian Sheth, all revealed their commitment to helping combat the wildfires in the nation. You can check out the Instagram post below:

Thus far, the wildfires have done significant damage in Australia, killing approximately 25 people and also billions of animals. In fact, ecologists are concerned that many animals will go extinct, as the fires ravaged through their habitats.

Leonardo DiCaprio isn't the only celebrity to drop serious money to help combat the wildfires. Chris Hemsworth, Kylie Jenner, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, and Pink, have all donated money to help attenuate the calamity.

According to a report from The Age, scientists believe that at least one species has gone extinct, and the number of animals killed is at least 500 million. Euan Ritchie, a wildlife ecology associate professor at Deakin University, stated that he and the rest of the University's department were very concerned.

The ecologist explained that it was very difficult to estimate how many animals were ravaged in the fires, but it's easy to guess in the billions. Regarding extinct animals, ecologists have noted that a miniature kangaroo, that was already endangered, may be extinct after fires pushed through one of the only known habitats.

Earlier last week, Nicole Kidman, who was present at a pre-Golden Globes event, revealed she felt very "distracted" due to the wildfires raging through her home country. As it was noted above, Kidman and Keith Urban were among the first celebrities to announce they were donating money to the volunteer firefighting services in New South Wales.
