Jussie Smollett Makes A Cheeky Move And The Critics Are Pouncing In -- Will Former 'Empire' Actor Back Off?
A cheeky move? Some of Jussie Smollett’s fans seem to agree, as recent reports indicate that the actor and his sister, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, are apparently working on a new movie, which will tell the story of… a brother and sister who have been falsely accused of something.
Many saw that as a not-so-subtle reference to the situation around Jussie himself in recent months, and there has been a lot of backlash against the alleged shameless idea.
A lot still remains unknown around Jussie’s case when he was allegedly attacked on racial grounds. It later came to light that the attack was staged, likely in an attempt to boost the actor’s popularity which backfired unexpectedly.
However, the Empire star has maintained his innocence through the whole ordeal.
Many people were suspicious of the situation when it came to light that Jussie's charges were dropped, but was still ordered to pay for the time spent investigating his case, according to reports.
Many observers questioned why officials would order him to do something like that if they saw him as innocent in the first place.
It is not known if the upcoming film will be a direct reference to the situation around the actor, or if it is just a coincidence that he has decided to film something like that, but one thing is certain -- there is a lot of tension in the air over the actor’s decision to make that film in the first place, and not all of his fans are too fond of the idea.
One critic replied: “I believe he walked in negative degrees to a subway for sandwiches.”
Another commenter said: “That lawyer I know is just doing his job, but he shouldn’t be putting the blame on the police officers he should be putting the blame on Jussie Smollett.”
A third person added: "Every single thing he talked about is relatable with myself, a relative or friend, and I was not once offended!!! I was entertained and laughed my butt off. Some Black folks were on Juicy’s side. However, Dave Chappell is absolutely correct. Most of us were like, “This man is lyin his a$s off. I don’t know why. But, I know he’s lying. 😂"
The actor obviously does not care much about public opinion.
