Most people agree that Jim Carrey did a great job portraying Joe Biden on Saturday Night Live and yet, the legendary actor is leaving the spot open after no more than six episodes! Now, one insider report claims to know why he is not planning on appearing in any future sketches as the President-elect and also who might replace him!

Jim Carrey is beloved by many, which is why his announcement that he is no longer going to play Joe Biden on SNL , shocked people.

The star told fans the news in quite a nice message and also assured everyone that there is a long list of talented actors who might take over the role after his departure.

As it turns out, Jim Carrey's appearance on the longlasting comedy show was supposed to be limited from the very beginning.

One source tells HollywoodLife that SNL's creator is already looking for the perfect replacement!

'Season 46 is now looking for their new 46. Lorne and the producers loved Jim Carrey in the role of Joe Biden and always expected that they were only going to have him for a limited time. Lorne has been looking to see if they could get another big-name celeb to take on the role but with Covid restrictions that has become much harder than originally expected,' the insider dished.

They went on to say that 'So to get someone from the current cast to do it is now the next best option. Beck Bennett is in the driver’s seat to get the part as he has been practising being Biden. They have also considered Alex Moffat and Mikey Day to do it, but Beck is the frontrunner.'

Fans of Saturday Night Live already know that Beck has delivered praise-worthy impressions of other political figures such as Bill Clinton, Jeb Bush, and Mike Pence in the past.

With that being said, it would not be surprising if he added Joe Biden to that list and it's also safe to assume that he would do a great job as well!
