Jeweler Says He Never Made The King Von Bling Necklace For Lil' Durk
At the end of 2020, hip-hop fans were shocked and saddened after it was reported that King Von had been shot and killed outside of an Atlanta nightlife establishment. A gunfight broke out between two large groups of men, and several of them died as a result of it.
King Von then became the subject of many social media tributes and commemoration, including from his former girlfriend, Asian Doll, who even had the rapper's face tattooed on her after the fact. (However, DJ Akademiks blasted Asian Doll and said she was probably just doing it for clout).
Either way, King Von 's death was another tough blow to the industry, especially to Lil' Durk, his close friend. Hot New Hip Hop says King Von's name was in the headlines once again this month after a jeweler created a King Von chain that sparked controversy.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Mazza New York shared a piece that was inspired by the late rapper. The news later came out saying how Lil' Durk had supposedly bought that for King Von. Durk later came out to say that it wasn't true. He wrote, "that's not my weak-a** chain."
Reportedly, Mazza New York felt they had been accused of suggesting Lil' Durk had paid for the chain to be created in King Von's honor, so they released a statement on their IG in which they stated they would be pulling down the chain out of "respect for the situation."
Mazza New York went on to claim that he had created and posted the design a long time ago, and it was done out of love for Durk. However, he says he never said it was his, nor did he say that Durk had commissioned it in any way.
In case you missed it, Asian Doll also posted a picture of a chain that featured an image of the late rapper. The response to it was mixed, with many people stating that it looked nothing like King Von , while others claimed it looked cool.
