Hilaria Baldwin Loses Sponsorship Amid Spanish Heritage Controversy
Hilaria Baldwin found herself in hot water in late 2020 after it was revealed that she doesn't actually have Spanish heritage, which she has supposedly claimed in the past.
Page Six reported today that the 37-year-old has just lost one of her brand partnerships with Cuties Baby Care who announced they would no longer work with her. The company said in a statement that their partnership with Hilaria had come to a close at the end of 2020.
The statement went on to thank Hilaria for her support and the business they had in the years prior. Reportedly, Baldwin worked with the company for a couple of years through a number of marketing practices, including via giveaways.
Hilaria has a working relationship with other brands such as Mattel, Spindrift, Fisher-Price, and Bissell, however, the organizations in question never responded to Page Six's suggestion for comments.
A report from the outlet says Alec and Hilaria have been staying in their Hamptons mansion and are "very upset" over the news that has come to light.
According to Page Six, Hilaria claimed she was from Spain for years and even spoke with an accent, when in reality, she was born in Boston with the name, Hillary Hayward-Thomas. Hilaria took to her IG a number of times to explain the situation, but the controversy never subsided.
At the end of 2020, Hilaria then spoke with the New York Times and had the following things to say: Hilaria said there were people who were "misrepresenting" her, and she never did anything wrong. The star also said there was a "difference between hiding and creating a boundary."
As most know, Hilaria and Alec share several children together, and she, in particular, has been very open and honest about her miscarriage struggles and other familial issues.
Alec, on the other hand, has received acclaim in recent years for his portrayal of Donald Trump on SNL . Alec also found himself in the headlines over a parking lot dispute in which he allegedly punched another man in the face, although, the charges were later dropped.
The man involved filed a suit against Alec which the actor's lawyer said was merely opportunistic and a way of absorbing money out of the situation.
