Hailey Baldwin Explains How Proud She Is Of Justin Bieber For Overcoming His Mental Issues In Stunning Vogue Cover Story
Vogue ‘s March 2018 issue is graced by newlyweds -- Hailey Baldwin and Canadian crooner Justin Bieber.
The pair posed for a series of fun and high-fashion photos that were accompanied by a very detailed and personal interview.
For the very first time, Justin opened up about being addicted to drugs and sex. The 24-year-old singer said he was hooked on Xanax and could not control his sexual compulsion.
Justin also explained how religion, a strong will, and being celibate helped him resolve his issues.
Justin confessed: “I found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of, being super promiscuous and stuff, and I think I used Xanax because I was so ashamed. My mom always said to treat women with respect. For me, that was always in my head while I was doing it, so I could never enjoy it.”
The entertainer went on to say: “Drugs put a screen between me and what I was doing. It got pretty dark. I think there were times when my security was coming in late at night to check my pulse and see if I was still breathing.”
The singer explained how celibacy saved him from causing more pain to himself by saying: “I think sex can cause a lot of pain. Sometimes people have sex because they don’t feel good enough … because they lack self-worth. Women do that, and guys do that. I wanted to rededicate myself to God in that way because I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul. And I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result. There are perks. You get rewarded for good behavior.”
Hailey added that she is proud of her husband because he did it all "without a sober coach or AA or classes — I think it’s extraordinary. He is, in ways, a walking miracle.”
One person reacted to the shoot by saying: "His heart is still with Selena. It's written all over his face. Good thing he cut his hair, they would have been like twins. 😅"
Another commenter stated: "He said, “she’s the security.” Meaning she lets him do what he wants."
Justin's fans are happy with his new-found maturity.
