Janet Jackson, is that you? Ashanti has decided to open 2019 with a big bang. The talented singer and songwriter appeared at an event this weekend where she debuted a very sassy short blonde hair.
Ashanti got very playful on the red carpet as she gazed at her sexy self in the mirror.
Fans are in love with the surprising new look and find she resembles another music icon — Janet Jackson. Fans are set to get a new album from the R&B diva this year.
The “Say Less” artist recently did an interview with iHeartRadio where she said her sound and lyrics will be out of the box.
Ashanti explained: “What fans can expect this year is a lot of new music, a lot of new visuals, actually me saying more. I’m just super excited. [I’ve] been working with so many different people, shooting a lot of things, [and] just trying things differently. Going outside the box.”
She added: “I feel like I have a lot to say. I feel like the last album I put out was … of course I’m going to say I feel like it was amazing. But there are so many things that have happened from the last time I put music out, so there are a lot of things to say. Especially with what’s going on in the music industry and just the world, period. So, yeah, I have some stuff to say.”
The stunning diva went on to say: “The new music, I’m saying things that I haven’t said before and I probably wouldn’t. But I think it’s important to be just honest, transparent, [and] vulnerable at times and just be real. There are gonna be a few people that are gonna be mad about some of the things I’m talking about in these records. I’ve always written records from the heart, so if it’s something that I’m not going through, maybe someone I’m close to has gone through it. But a lot of this stuff that I’m talking about, I’m going through. Some people [are] gonna be mad.”
The singer said she also loves to surprise her supporters with different looks.
The diva claimed: “Trying different looks and shooting different kinds of visuals. I did a shoot where I’m standing on the ledge of a building, you know, one wrong move [and] it would have been over. But I think it’s just really important nowadays to touch people [and] bring something new to the table. And, you know, bring it.”
Ashanti is a walking fashion statement.
