Demi Lovato To Perform National Anthem At Super Bowl LIV
Demi Lovato has revealed that she will be singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl LIV in Miami on February 2nd. The 27-year-old singer announced the news on her Instagram page on Wednesday, just one day after she revealed she will be performing at the Grammy Awards later this month.
“Singing the National Anthem at #SBLIV 🏈 🏈 🏈 See you in Miami 🌴 @NFL,” Lovato wrote in the caption of a Miami-themed selfie.

Lovato also tweeted the news that she will sing the Star Spangled Banner at Hard Rock Stadium before the NFL’s championship match-up. Lovato will be joined by musician Christine Sun Kim, who will sign the words to the anthem in American Sign Language.
Other superstars who have performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl include, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Pink, Christina Aguilera, Luke Bryan, and Gladys Knight. Of course, the most famous performance was by Whitney Houston in 1991, which was actually released as a single and made the Billboard charts.
According to The Daily Mail, Lovato’s performance at the Grammys and at the Super Bowl will mark the first time she’s sung live in two years. They will also be her first live performances since she nearly lost her life after a drug overdose in the summer of 2018.

The official Twitter account of the NFL responded to Lovato’s tweet by saying they “can’t wait” for her performance on Super Bowl Sunday.
Lovato took a social media break in early December, and she told her fans that the next time they heard from her she’d be singing. When she returned after a six-week break to announce her Grammy performance, she joked in the caption, “I told you the next time you’d hear from me I’d be singing.”
After Demi Lovato performs the National Anthem, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will take the stage as co-headliners for the Super Bowl halftime show. Last fall, when the NFL announced the halftime show performers, Lopez said that every artist dreams of performing on such a big stage.
Lopez added that she was excited that the NFL chose two strong Latina women.
Super Bowl LIV airs live from Miami on February 2nd on Fox.
