Emilia Clarke revealed some shocking news earlier this week. When the now 32-year-old actress finished filming season one of HBO’s award-winning series Game of Thrones, she suffered not one, but two aneurysms. The health emergency resulted in brain surgery and while Emilia was going through all of this, she kept it hidden from the public. Emilia penned the piece for the New Yorker and the news went viral. Emilia opened her article “A Battle For My Life” with the following words.
“I had just finished filming Season 1 of Game of Thrones. Then I was struck with the first of two aneurysms.”
While social media immediately responded with dismay and thankfulness that Emilia survived the ordeal, her co-star Lena Headey released a statement that has expressed the sentiment many feel.
Speaking via Instagram, Lena Headey gave a special shout out to her co-star and called her a warrior.
“It took me a while to know this woman (there are 64000 of us after all) Not until she spoke to me about her experience did I fully realize the warrior she truly is (MOD for real x209840000) she does really great things for causes that deserve it. She’s kind and determined and funny and aware. #Thursday’s MVP … Here’s to @emilia_clarke 💪💪💪💪💪⭐️⭐️⭐️💗”
