Taylor Swift Explains Why She And Joe Alwyn Are So Private About Their Romance
It’s a well known fact that Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Joe Alwyn have been keeping their romance as private as possible. That being said, in a new interview, the singer explained why that is.
On her latest album, Lover, Taylor got pretty vulnerable and sincere about her romance with Joe and that was not a problem.
However, when it comes to talking about him during interviews, she is really not willing to do it.
As for why that is, she explained that they just like to keep their professional and personal lives separate.
Chatting with The Guardian, Swift told the news outlet that ‘I’ve learned that if I do [talk about it], people think it is up for discussion, and our relationship is not up for discussion. If we were having a glass of wine now, we would be talking about it – but it is just that it goes out into the world. That is where the boundary is, and that is where my life has become manageable. I want to keep it feeling manageable.’
But even though this is definitely the most private romance she’s had during her career, that does not mean she was not going to sing about it.
Actually, a number of songs off the new album titled Lover seem to allude to their love story including Paper Rings, I Think He Knows, London Boy and Daylight but also the title track!
In the fourth deluxe edition of the album, Taylor even included a diary entry about keeping their romance private.
It reads in part: ‘This time last year I was living in LA, getting ready for Grammys and now, I am essentially based in London, trying to protect us from the nasty world that wants to ruin things. We’ve been together and no one’s found out for three months now. I want it to stay that way because I do not want anything to change or become complicated or intruded upon. But it is senseless to worry about someday not being happy when I’m happy now. Ok. Breathe.’
