Selena Gomez Returns To Instagram After Long Social Media Break – Gets Candid About Her Recovery
Selena Gomez is ready to talk about her mental health and her recovery. After a long social media hiatus, the singer returned to her Instagram account to candidly look back at all the ‘challenges’ the year that just passed threw at her.
As fans know all too well, Selena decided to stay away from social media for a while and finally, after almost four months of absence, she shared her first post, earlier today!
Selena posted three selfies, and in the caption, she wrote a very personal, very vulnerable message.
‘It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me, but I wanted to wish everybody a happy new year and to thank you all for your love and support. Last year was definitely a year of self reflection, challenges and growth. It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming.’
‘Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all,’ she concluded her letter.

It’s been awhile since you have heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and to thank you for your love and support. Indeed, Selena Gomez went through a lot last year.
At the beginning of 2018, she reunited with Justin Bieber but not too long after, they split, this time for good, since in the meantime he married Hailey Baldwin!
Then, the singer was hospitalized due to having a ‘low white blood cell count.’
While in the hospital, she became more and more frustrated about her condition to the point that she would often be on the brink of having anxiety and panic attacks.
Finally, it all became too much, and she suffered an ‘emotional breakdown,’ as TMZ reported at the time.
Selena realized she needed help and so, she checked herself into a rehab facility, where she received the proper help.
