Meghan Markle clearly knows how to accessorize. The Duchess of Sussex, who will become a mom for the first time this spring, rocked an $850 necklace that featured the word “mummy” a day after her lavish baby shower in New York City.
The former actress was spotted with her new gold-plated necklace as she departed the Mark Hotel this week. The hotel is the same venue where Markle celebrated her baby shower alongside a slew of celebrities Tuesday night.

According to Page Six, the necklace is an 18-carat gold design from Jennifer Meyer and sells for $850. Although Markle could easily afford a necklace of that caliber, one of the guests at the baby shower probably gave it to her. The party was put on by Amal Clooney and Serena Williams, who welcomed guests inside the hotel’s luxurious penthouse suite.
The cost of the suite is rumored to be around $75,000 a night, which was fully paid for by Markle’s guests. The two-story suite is 10,000 square feet in size, which was plenty big to fit all of Markle’s celebrity friends.
A day after the festivities, Markle received a sweet shoutout from two of New York’s biggest celebrities: Beyoncé and Jay Z. The couple shared a photo of themselves posing in front of a portrait of Markle and added a nice caption for the Duchess of Sussex.
“In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy,” Beyoncé wrote.

Their Royal Highnesses see more of the vibrant Moroccan culture – joining a cooking demonstration with Chef Moha and children, who were cooking traditional dishes. Many of the children are from underprivileged backgrounds, and are part of a scheme to help open up the restaurant industry to young people. Children were also making Cherine Mallah’s Moroccan Pancakes from ‘Together: Our Community Cookbook’ – the charity cookbook, supported by The Duchess, which celebrates the power of cooking to bring communities together. #RoyalVisitMorocco #CookTogether. 📷image 2 PA / image 1 +3 @kensingtonroyal
The Instagram post comes after the Carters took home the Brit Award for Best International Group. This marks the second time Beyoncé has been bestowed the award, and the two clearly could not be happier about winning it again.
Meghan Markle returned to London to be with her husband, Prince Harry, on Wednesday, right before they jetted off to Morocco. The couple is scheduled to have their first child together this April, though they have yet to reveal the gender of the baby.
