Britney Spears has always been seen as a beauty but that is not to say that she hasn’t also struggled with insecurities just like everyone else out there! The pop star revealed that, growing up, she saw herself as an ‘ugly duckling‘ because of her bad teeth!

Furthermore, she was also not a big fan of her forehead either so she would cut bangs to hide it.

At the same time she was dealing with all these self-image struggles just like any other kid growing up, Britney was also in the spotlight!

As you may know, she appeared on Star Search when she was only 10, then was also on Disney’s The Mickey Mouse Club at 11.

Finally, she wowed with her music industry debut in 1998 when she released her hit ‘Baby One More Time.’ She was only 16.

That means that fans were able to watch her grow from a cute little girl into a beautiful teen and then woman.

But she did not feel as pretty as everyone else perceived her.

In a post she shared yesterday on her IG account, the singer opened up about her insecurities in the past.

She admitted that she did not think she was able to pull off a hairstyle with no bangs.

Furthermore, her teeth made her feel like an ‘ugly duckling.’

This was only made worse by a modeling agency rejecting her during her grade-school years by simply telling her she was not ‘pretty enough’ for the job.

She posted a current pic that showed her with her hair pulled back, a couple of hair strands over her forehead.

In the caption, she wrote: ‘I know I need bangs!!!!! Who would've thought bangs could make you look waaaay younger?!?! I stopped having bangs in the 3 rd grade and remember like it was yesterday….it was a big deal to expose my forehead….only pretty people could do that and I never felt pretty enough.'

She went on: ‘I had bad teeth and I felt like an ugly duckling. I once met with a modeling agency but I was not pretty enough so I just went home and said, ‘maybe I can be like older girls and show my forehead!!!!’ I did and it looked soooo bad but I thought that I was gorgeous!!!! I think I knew it did not look good but did it because I thought it made me cool….and I have pretty much had it like that ever since!!!!’

In reality, she looks beautiful as is and a lot of fans were quick to assure her of that in the comment section.
