WWE’s biggest event of the year, Wrestlemania, is tonight. Two years after their on-air proposal, John Cena and Nikki Bella will be flooded with memories that will most likely bring out tough emotions.
From getting down on one knee in front of thousands of fans two years ago to being single a year ago — John and Nikki have had a rough path that played out in front of the public.
Hollywood Life talked to a source that offered some insight on the mixed feelings the WWE superstars will have.
“This weekend will for sure bring up a lot of mixed emotions for both Nikki and John. It’s extra hard on both of them because they broke up almost a year ago to the day. Nikki holds on to those memories especially as that was a really hard decision for her to end that relationship. That doesn’t mean they’ve moved on from one another at all, it just means, for now, a formal relationship between the pair won’t work.”
John is filming a movie in Canada but a little birdie spilled the beans that the actor may have a surprise match tonight at the main event.
The exes have since found new partners. The Bella twin is dating her ‘Dancing With the Stars’ partner Artem Chigvintsev while John has been spotted with Shay Shariatzadeh.
This comes after Nikki admitted on ‘Total Bellas’: “No matter what, the next time I see him with someone it’s going to kill me. I still have a long way to go. But honestly, I’m ready for a new me. I need it. You know what I feel like I need to do? I need to start living as if I don’t care whether it’s my ex or anyone else watching me and afraid to hurt their feelings.”
The athletes will always have feelings for each other but unfortunately were not a match.
