The drama began with one Tweets from the Desperately Seeking Susan star.

The message did not go over well with her followers. Her comments section quickly became flooded with remarks bashing Arquette.

Arquette revealed to The Wrap on Thursday that the responses to her initial Tweet have become so alarming, the FBI got involved. She was advised by the authorities to lock all of her social media accounts amid the backlash from her white privilege words.
"There are toxic and very vicious people on social media. Threatening and cruel. I said yesterday the I am ashamed of the color of my skin. I am privileged just because I'm white. I feel shame. Because of all the violence that is happening in America and other racist countries Yes, I'm locked to protect myself I was told by FBI to lock it up," she shared with the website regarding why all of her social media accounts are suddenly private.
