Phaedra Parks Is Returning To Reality TV After Fans Beg Andy Cohen To Bring Her Back To RHOA
Just one week after a Twitter poll caused Phaedra Parks to trend globally for an entire day, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star is returning to reality television. A new report claims that Parks and her boyfriend - actor Medina Islam - are currently filming the new season of Marriage Boot Camp .
Parks started the year by introducing her fans to her new boyfriend, Chicago DJ Tone Kapone, but the relationship quickly fizzled. Then, over the summer she told DailyMailTV that she was “happy” after finding love with a “tall, dark, and handsome” man.
"I didn't date for four years and so I put my foot into the man pond I guess about nine months to a year ago," said Parks. "I dated a guy and that didn't quite work out, and so I found another guy that's more suitable for me and I'm quite excited and happy about him."
Parks met Islam on the dating app Raya, and she says that they ran in the same circles for years. She added that when he heard that she was on the dating site he joined so he could meet her. Back in 2016, Islam dated RHOA alum Claudia Jordan.
Parks and Islam have been dating for a few months, and insiders told TMZ that the couple will be working out her desire to move from Atlanta to Los Angeles to be with Islam. She wants to move her life - and her two sons Ayden and Dylan - clear across the country to be near her man, and they need to figure out if they are ready for that next step in their relationship.
This new TV gig is the first for Parks since Bravo fired her after Season 9 of RHOA when she spread the rumor that Kandi Burruss wanted to drug and rape Porsha Williams. Not long after she got the ax, Parks told TMZ that she had “no desire” to go back to the popular Bravo show.
Parks recently trended on Twitter when a fan poll asked which Atlanta Housewife - past or present - “Had the best shade.” Parks won the poll by a landslide, and it led to fans begging executive producer Andy Cohen to bring her back.
WeTV has not yet announced a premiere date for the new season of Marriage Boot Camp.
