Lady Gaga Was Reportedly 'Flipping Out' After Failing To Win Best Actress Golden Globe
Lady Gaga received strong reviews for her role in A Star Is Born , but that critical acclaim did not result in a Golden Globes award over the weekend. Inside sources claim that Gaga went into the ceremony thinking she deserved to win the best actress and completely flipped out when the award went to someone else.
"She was flipping the f**k out afterwards and literally in tears," an insider revealed. "She had her acceptance speech ready and written and rehearsed and was certain that she was going to come home with several awards."
Many people expected Gaga to win the prestigious title. In one of the biggest surprises of the night, Glenn Close beat her out for her work in the film, The Wife .
A source told Radar Online that Gaga fielded a lot of questions about winning best actress, which made her believe she was going to go home with the evening's top prize.
She never expected to lose to Close and reportedly had trouble containing her emotions backstage.
Although Gaga did not win the coveted award, she did take home a Golden Globe for best original song. Gaga was awarded for the track, "Shallow," which was featured in A Star Is Born .
The insider says that Gaga was grateful for the award but hoped that the movie would have won more.
This is not the first time Gaga has won a Golden Globe for acting. She previously took home an award for best performance in a limited series for her part in American Horror Story: Hotel .
Gaga has not commented about her reaction to the loss.
Shortly after the Golden Globes aired, Gaga took to Instagram and shared a photo of herself eating Fruity Pebbles in bed with her new Golden Globe trophy.
Gaga looked happy in the pic, which she captioned, "What a rager."
The singer may not have won the biggest award of the night, but she was clearly happy to have taken home another Golden Globe to add to her growing collection.
Given her successful foray into the acting world, it's probably a safe bet that this won't be Lady Gaga’s last Golden Globe.
