After an old video of Jeannie Mai surfaced in which she explained that she liked "dark meat on the side" and Tamar Braxton more or less scolded her, she has drawn a lot of criticism from fans of rapper and activist Jeezy.

She said at the time: "Love black guys. For me, dark meat on the side, white keeps me mean and lean. That’s why I married white. That’s what I like."

Tamar responded by: “Wait, what are you reading it as? “How did you say it? You like your main man to be White and your side piece to be Black …”

The co-host of The Real has been accused of going over the top with her statements and being inappropriate towards black men.

On the other hand, some have also pointed out that Jeezy and Jeannie have had a very peculiar relationship in general, and it does not make sense to criticize them over this in particular.

That has not stopped a number of their fans from discussing their relationship at length though, and it looks like it is quite the hot topic on social media right now.

Some have even brought up the previous marriage between Jeannie and Freddy Harteis as extra ammunition in the argument.

Although others have shut those statements down, pointing out that it is quite inappropriate even to make references to that situation in the context of what was said by Jeannie.

In any case, it looks like the TV host is going to face some problematic comments for some time soon, and she is going to be subjected to a lot of scrutiny by fans and foes.

Whether she will even respond to those statements is hard to tell at this point, although it would not be out of the question for Jeezy to also step in and say something to address the situation in his way.

One person had this reaction: "Society has turned the black man and black women away from each other. Black men don’t value the black women as he should, and most of the black women don’t respect themselves enough to give black men any reason to be with them. Everyone is money-driven and selfish. Pride is an issue for the black man as well as black women. The black women are the most important being on this earth period, but everybody is lost."

Another follower claimed: "We are the most bitter people walking the face of the earth. The proof is in the comments. 🤦🏽‍♀️"

This social media user wrote: "Why would anyone be upset at the fact that he is dating a non-black woman? It’s not like he has never dated black women. It’s not like he doesn’t have black kids with black women or like he talks down on black women. Let this man live his life."

A fourth fan revealed: "Black women stop saying we ain’t good enough!!! Some black men do prefer us, black queens!! Black men that date other races usually can’t handle how powerful a black queen is 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️ soo go be great and find someone who loves you!"

Did she cross a line?

Well Jeanie will have to live up to what she said to her own self. She is impulsive to say the least. Speaks out of turn then does everything she can to clear it up is exactly what happened when she made that statement. To be honest I don't care what race she likes as she is the one who has to live with her choice. I'm am so tired of people holding celebrity type to some higher standard that they are honest with no baggage and there word is true because of more money than I make. I do not put my all nor idolize any celebrity types male or female. If black men choose to date marry outside his race then go the hell on and do what you like. I'm I'm bothered I'm not envious or jealous. Women are still women whatever their race just as men are men whatever their race. I am a black woman who loves black men only. I will never date out of my race as it's not my preference. If others do it's okay by me.

I’ve never seen Jeannie as happy as she is with Jeezy. She blushes when his name is mentioned on the real so the critics out there should leave her be and let her live. I’m happy you found love Jeannie. Enjoy your new life and new man. The haters are just jealous because they don’t have a man that dotes on them like Jeezy does with you. I know you could care less about their negativity as you should so keep pressing on dear.

I hate this notion that a black dude that dates outside his race only does so because he cant "handle" A strong black women when 80 to 90% of black men especially in jeezy's age range were raised by black women much stronger then most of the women of today of any race. Its an utterly ridiculous notion. But when A black woman dates outside her race Particularly if its A rich white dude black women are high fiveing and you go girling lol oh&shes not doing it because she cant "handle"A strong black man.. Its because thier are none or we pushed her over there lol...knock it off. Sarena Williams some where laid up with her white husband right now&yall have 0 peoblem with it.Jeezy has ALWAYS been solid..leave that man alone.

She didn't say anything negative and she explained what she meant. I seen her recently speak about Jeezy and I could tell that she really cares for him and him for her when I watched his interview.
