Jared Padalecki And Jensen Ackles Explain Why Supernatural Will End With Season 15
Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever, and that is the case even with a very long-running show – Supernatural! It seemed like it would just always get renewed but it turns out that Season 15 is its last one ever!
Mark Pedowitz, the President of CW had mentioned before that the series would continue as long as the main cast, namely Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, wanted to keep playing Sam and Dean!
That being said, when the actors showed up at VegasCon 2019, people expected them to explain why the show’s ending!
One fan asked about it, and Padalecki stated that it was ‘a community decision. The network and the studio didn't say 'hey guys, get outta here.’'
Ackles went on to say that ‘It was not an easy decision. It was months and months if not years of discussions between he and I, the rest of the cast, crew, between our writers, our producers, the studio, between the network.’
He went on to explain that after so many years, the writing was ‘of on the wall’ and they did not want to see the show ‘fizzle out.’
The star then compared their desire to end the story on an epic note to driving off a cliff in the Impala!
From his point of view, it’s better to do that and be epic rather than just ‘run out of gas about 30 miles down the road in the middle of the desert with nothing around you.’
Pretty morbid but definitely very fitting!
Still, Padalecki pointed out that both options are not the best.
Regardless, the stars reminded people that there is still one more full year of epicness in store for the fans so they should not get sad yet.
