Halsey Gets Candid About Her Split From G-Eazy And The Lessons She’s Learned From It!
The singer opened up about her break up from rapper G-Eazy and revealed what she has learned from it during a brand new interview. Halsey and G-Eazy were in a relationship for about one year, and in July, they ended things but then rekindled their romance only a month later.
However, one source shared with E! News that towards the end of October, they split once again, this time probably for good!
Halsey did not address the breakup publicly, but it turns out that she did feel the pressure of doing just that.
As a result, during her interview with Glamour, the 24-year-old star got candid about the end of their relationship and the lessons she learned.
‘The biggest lesson that I learned was to just make art and not headlines. Because it can become easy, in the social media generation, to go from being a musician to becoming a personality,’ she told the magazine.
Halsey went on to discuss the meaning of her song, Without Me, claiming that the lyrics are about caring for someone so much that you end up losing yourself.
‘I call myself a collector; I collect things from people and use them to widen my artistic repertoire so that I am writing from a culmination of experiences from the world. But I’m an imitator as well because I’m so passionately putting myself in other people’s shoes all the time,’ she explained.
As her interview went on, Halsey also opened up about an even more sensitive topic – her suicide attempt at the age of 17.
Afterwards, she spent over two weeks in a psychiatric hospital and was then diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
But apparently, that was when she finally realized that while she felt like she had no direction, she didn’t really want to die.
