Hailey Baldwin Opens Up About 2016 Breakup From Justin Bieber – ‘It Feels Like Grieving’
It’s no secret that Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber are now married and very happy together. However, before ending up together, they went through a breakup and now, the model is opening up about how she coped with it!
As you might know, the two dated briefly back in 2016 but went on to split as it did not work out the first time around.
Regardless, the feelings were still there, especially for Hailey who revealed in their new Facebook Watch show, The Biebers on Watch, that she felt like she was ‘grieving’ the singer’s loss.
Sure enough, Justin also mentioned that their messy breakup was ‘painful’ for him as well.
In the video that they were filming using GoPro cameras while on a canoe ride, Justin asks Hailey how she was able to trust him again since ‘at the time there was so much hurt and so much pain.’
Hailey explained that it was all about focusing on herself during that painful time.
‘I think that one thing that is really important is that from that time you and I ended and weren’t on good terms, I was on my own. I didn’t just throw myself into another relationship into something else to try to … distract myself and forget. I did not search for someone to take your place and to take another relationship or fill a void. I really let myself feel all the emotions I was feeling,’ she told her husband.
Hailey went on to open up about how it felt, saying that it was ‘like grieving, it’s grieving actually. You feel like you lose someone that you really, really love and care about. I remember I cared about you so much that I was like, ‘It does not even matter to me if he is in my life, in a romantic way. I just care about him so much that I want us to be in each other’s lives.”
However, looking back, Hailey admitted that she thinks they did the right thing taking a break for years before reuniting and even getting married.
This way, they were able to find themselves and their careers, as well as become more mature adults and approach their romance differently.
