Drake Reaches Out To Tennis Champion Bianca Andreescu After She Calls Him Out For Not Congratulating Her For The U.S. Open Victory
Bianca Andreescu won against Serena Williams at the U.S. Open and she called out fellow Canadian, Drake for not congratulating her. However, it turns out that the rapper realized his mistake and did just that!
Drake apparently got in contact with the young tennis champion, sending her a very supportive and sweet message on social media.
Not only did the 19 year old beat Serena Williams but she also made history as the first ever Canadian to win that tournament!
A few days after the match, Bianca stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and while there, she raved over the amazing support she'd gotten from a number of different celebrities, including Shania Twain and even Justin Trudeau!
But, the teenager argued that despite Drake being a huge fan of Canadian teams, he did not congratulate her for the historic victory.
The rapper probably heard her complaint, because soon after, reached out!
As a result, while at a press conference yesterday, Bianca revealed that Drake had finally contacted her and she even read the message out loud!
‘Here I am. Congrats, we are all so proud of you. I’ve been liking every post with you in it, lol I thought you would see.’
The tennis player admitted that she was pretty star-struck, having no idea how to reply to the rapper’s sweet message.
Drake was actually romantically involved with Andreescu’s opponent, Serena Williams in the past.
Back in 2015, he even cheered on her at the same tournament.
But their supposed romance was never officially confirmed and now, it seems very long ago, seeing how both have new lives and have obviously moved on from their alleged fling.
