It appears that both Rush Limbaugh and his good friend, President Donald Trump, have some thoughts about Democratic presidential candidate who is openly gay.

On his radio show, the controversial conservative media personality explained that he recently spoke to Trump, who stated that Pete Buttigieg's sexuality would make it impossible for him to become president.

Limbaugh claimed: "Trump called me to talk about his comments last week that America's still not ready to elect a gay guy kissing his husband on the debate stage."

Limbaugh told Trump to "never apologize" for his scandalous remarks about the politician and his husband, Chasten Buttigieg.

He claimed: "Hell, the president even called me about this! He said, 'Rush, I just got to tell you something. Never apologize. Don't ever apologize.' "

He added: "A gay guy, 37 years old, loves kissing his husband on debate stages. Can you see Trump have fun with that? I think they think that there's a lot of people that don't know he's gay and that I sort of dropped the dime on it and let people who otherwise didn't know that Mayor Pete is gay. I think that's what they're really mad about, that I even mentioned it."

Buttigieg is not taking the insults lying down and decided to hit back while on CNN.

The former mayor claimed "didn't lecture him on family values" and added: "I love my husband. I'm faithful to my husband. On stage, we usually just go for a hug. But I love him very much, and I'm not going take lectures on family values from the likes of Rush Limbaugh,"

Later on with CNN's Erin Burnett at a Las Vegas town hall, Buttigieg bashed Limbaugh and Trump who are serial cheaters by saying: "Not if he's sending out his supporters to talk in this way. The idea of the likes of Rush Limbaugh or Donald Trump lecturing anybody on family values — I mean, sorry but, one thing about my marriage is it's never involved me having to send hush money to a porn star after cheating on my spouse with him or her. So they wanna debate family values? Let's debate family values. I'm ready."

The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana has made history this year with his performance on the campaign trail.
