According to a report from PageSix, Cher’s ticket prices are decreasing in price as time goes on. Despite the fact sources close to the iconic performer claim, she has been doing well on her latest tour, Here We Go Again, PageSix says her tickets aren’t selling well in Canada.
Her performance in Vancouver, Canada, were on sale at StubHub for around $16.25 just a few hours before the doors actually opened. It’s unclear if that is in America currency or Canadian, but if it’s in Canadian dollars, that means the tickets are going for roughly $12.20 USD.
Moreover, front-ticket seats were selling for just a mere $142. They were on sale for around five hours before the show was slated to begin. Just last week, Cher’s concert in Calgary, Alberta was selling for approximately $6, a price around the same in comparison to a local artist just starting out in a scene.
A representative speaking on the behalf of the iconic singer said that, despite reports, her shows are selling well. The rep said, “Cher is actually doing incredible business everywhere.” The spokesperson directed Page Six reporters to look at Pollstar, where the numbers are online for all to see.
Followers of Cher know that she has been engaging in Twitter beef and spats with the president of the United States, Donald Trump. Ever since Trump was elected as president in 2016, Cher has voiced her distaste for the controversial politician repeatedly on Twitter, calling him all kinds of names.
Another star to suffer poor ticket sales allegedly is Britney Spears. TMZ previously reported that her Las Vegas residency tickets didn’t sell very well. Curiously, just a few months later, Britney announced she was canceling the tour on account of her father’s ailing health.
To Cher’s credit, her time in the limelight has lasted over fifty years, following her rise to stardom in the 1960s. According to the artist’s Wikipedia page, she came to prominence in 1965, selling forty-million records by the ending of the 60s.
Cher is now one of the best selling musical artists of all time, with a career spanning fifty years.
