The legend was surrounded by his family members at the time of his passing.

Michael Douglas, his son, also paid tribute to his father by posting a video on his IG account.

Alongside the touching clip, he wrote: 'Happy Birthday Dad! I miss you and thank you for always giving the best advice! Love, Michael.'

It showed a montage of pictures of the father and son throughout the years and also included a voice over by Michael sharing the best piece of advice he had ever gotten from his dad.

'The best advice my father gave me was, 'Whatever you do, you do it to the best of your ability. You leave that job knowing that you could not have done any more, and then walk away, you have done the best. Do not look back,'' the voiceover says.

This isn't the first time the couple is commemorating Kirk since his death.

They also remembered his legacy back in May during an interview for ET.
