JWoww’s Son Is ‘Kicking A**’ Since Autism Diagnosis
Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley was hit with the most shocking news of her life last year when her son was diagnosed with autism. Now that the little man is getting the help that he needs — he’s improving every day.
The ‘Jersey Shore’ star revealed in the reboot of the MTV show that Greyson Mathews was having developmental problems. At the time, his main issue was that he wasn’t talking.
After going to many specialists, the toddler was finally diagnosed with the disorder and Jenni has been taking her son to traditional and non-traditional doctors.
Farley gave an update to US Weekly about his condition.
“He’s doing amazing. He has the best therapists. He’s in four or five different therapies, but he is just kicking a**. Every day gets better. Every day he’s learning something new.”
Not only has the 2-year-old gone from not being able to speak at all to forming short sentences but he also knows a bit of sign language.
The mother of two has had to make some intense changes to her lifestyle in order to care for her baby boy. She recounted an incident in which Greyson had a hard time getting on an airplane.
“He wanted to get on the plane. He didn’t understand the word ‘no,’ understand why everyone was waiting around the gate. … He felt truly overwhelmed. … He was biting, kicking, screaming, throwing himself.”
The incident isn’t uncommon among those with sensory disorders. Luckily, a woman who advocates for autistic children reached out to JWoww and hooked Greyson up with a sensory bag that makes it a bit easier for little ones with the developmental disorder to be able to fly.
The reality star is using her platform for good by educating her followers in any way she can. Luckily, she has friends like Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi on her side to be a shoulder to lean on.
