Colton Underwood Thinks Elyse Dehlbom Is Not Fit To Be The Next ‘Bachelorette’ – Here’s Why!
It looks like the current Bachelor does not think Elyse Dehlbom, who just left the show on last night’s episode, should become the next Bachelorette! During an interview with ET, the man explained why he believes that.
While in attendance at ABC’s Winter Television Critics Association press tour earlier today, Colton Underwood chatted with the outlet and said about the 31-year-old makeup artist that ‘This format isn’t exactly for her. I am not saying that just to spite her, I am just saying it is realistic. It is a lot. It took me a couple of shows, I guess, to get there and really realize [it].’
As you may know, Colton was indeed pretty emotional when Elyse announced her choice to leave the show because it made him realize something about his own fear of rejection.
‘I am the Bachelor, and yes, I have the roses in my hand, but that does not make me invincible to getting my heart broken, and these women leaving when they want to leave. I respect her choice to do what she felt was best for her. It also sort of hit home for me. It is being told, ‘Hey, it’s not exactly what I want, or it is not quite there.’ So it’s tough,’ Colton went on to say.
Elyse told Colton on the episode that he was breaking her heart, following his one-on-one date with Heather.
She explained that she wanted more than a few months and to put more work into their relationship instead of sharing his attention with other women.
That being said, she decided to leave the series in fear that she will end up hurt.
After her departure, Colton opened up about his fear regarding the show, that at the end of it, he will propose to someone that will reject him just like Elyse did.
He got candid about his insecurity – of not being enough!
