If Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) had his way, he would be in a boxing ring “punching” President Donald Trump.
No, this is not a joke, in a new interview, Booker, who is hoping to go against The Donald in the 2020 presidential election, confessed that some of POTUS’ controversial remarks and policies give him the urge to assault him physically.
On Monday, the Democrat from New Jersey sat down with NBC’s Seth Meyers where he made it known that the testosterone in him makes him want to beat up the former reality TV star turned politician.
The 2020 presidential candidate also fat-shamed Trump by saying he is “physically weak specimen,” and “the elderly, out of shape man that he is.”
Booker stated: “He’s the body shamer. He’s the guy that … tries to drag people in the gutter. This is a moral moment in America, and to me, what we need from our next leader, especially after the time of moral vandalism that we’re in right now, is … a leader that’s not going to call us to the worst of who we are but call us to the best of who we are.”
Oddly enough, Booker also went on to call on Democrats to develop a positive vision for the country.
He stated: “Talk[ing] about necessarily what we’re against, but what we’re for.”
One neutral voice reacted to the interview by saying: “Sounds to me like pretty soon we are going to have another civil war here in our country! Better stop the fighting and start figuring out how to get along or we are all going to be in for something we aren’t ready for! Right now the country is nearly split in half, and the problem is that it isn’t between North and South, it is between Democrats and Republicans! “
The voter went on to share: “I am neither and refuse to put myself in such a group to define my beliefs! I think all sides have something good and bad. If we can not come together as a country and fight for what is right for all of us as a whole, we will crumble inside our own walls. Once we do that, we are weak and powerless and then watch us be taken over by those who hate us. You all would rather fight behind your computer rather than come together as a country!”
Trump has yet to answer Booker.
