That ’70s Show star Danny Masterson risks spending the rest of his life behind bars over accusations that he raped three women between 2001 and 2003! The Los Angeles District Attorney confirmed via HollywoodLife that he was charged with three counts of sexual assault ‘by force or fear.’
They also revealed that the actor faces 45 years to life in prison if he gets convicted for the said crimes.
Earlier today, the case was filed for warrant and now, the arraignment is set to take place on September 18!
The accusations are that he raped a 28 year old back in April of 2003 as well as two 23 year old women in 2001 and 2003 respectively and the Deputy District Attorney also confirmed that the alleged rapes happened at Danny’s house.
Masterson has been married to fellow Scientologist Bijou Phillips since 2011.
The two share a 6 year old daughter named Fianna Francis.
Tom Mesereau, his attorney, shared a statement via HollywoodLife that reads: ‘Mr. Masterson is innocent, and we are confident he will be exonerated when all of the evidence comes to light and witnesses have the opportunity to testify. Obviously, he and his wife are in shock considering these nearly 20-year old allegations are resulting in charges being filed, but they are comforted knowing that ultimately the truth will come out. The people who know Mr. Masterson know his character and the allegations to be false.’
According to the L.A. District Attorney, there are two more accusations but no charges, for different reasons.
One is because of the statute of limitations, while the second is because there is not enough evidence to charge him.
As you probably know, the investigation has been going on since 2014.
In 2017, he was fired from Netflix’s The Ranch over the claims against him amid the Me Too movement but he insists he is not guilty!
