Almost a week after Young Dolph suffered gunshot wounds in Hollywood, Los Angeles, it appears as though the rapper is slowly recovering. On Sunday morning, October 1st, the MC – who hails from Memphis, Tennessee – took to Twitter to show fans he’s in good spirits.
He wrote, “It’s DOLPH!” along with several dolphin emojis. However, the tweet did not update anyone on his particular health condition. According to BET, his initial social media post created an “overwhelming” reaction from his fans.
As you may already know, an unknown gunman shot Young Dolph during an altercation near The Shoe Palace between Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles.

Meghan Aguila, an officer at the scene who spoke to KTLA, claimed the men had a heated argument, which turned into a physical fight. Not long after, a man threw Young Dolph to the ground before shooting at him.
At first, journalists reported that Yo Gotti was a primary suspect in the shooting due to their troubled past. The LAPD shut down that possibility later in the investigation.
According to new reports, Cory McClendon, a friend of Gotti, was detained by police because they pegged him as the attempted murderer. Since then, officials released him without charges, and the LAPD continues to investigate the incident.
According to Greg Risling, a spokesperson for the police department, Under California law, if a person is arrested and put into jail there must be charges laid within forty-eight hours otherwise police have to release the suspect. In the meantime, the authorities are still looking for the other perpetrators involved in the altercation which left, Adolph Thornton Junior – Young Dolph – in the hospital with critical injuries.
