The news that beloved rapper XXXTentacion was shot to death in Miami at the age of just 20 shocked and saddened many. The young star is being mourned by all those close to him as well as his fans who related to and were comforted by his music.
Today, Jahseh’s team acknowledged the effect the young man had on people all over the world in an official statement they shared with ET.
‘On June 18, 2018, Jahseh Onfroy – known worldwide as XXXTentacion – tragically passed away from a gunshot wound in Deerfield, Florida. It’s with great sadness that the news is confirmed in this official statement by his team – manager Solomon Sobande, EMPIRE, Bob Celestin, Esq. and AKW PR. In deference to his loved ones and in light of the further investigation, we ask their privacy to be respected at this time. XXXTentacion touched millions of lives around the world and will forever reside in the hearts of countless fans who listened to the music, attended concerts, and felt the glow of his uncontainable, undeniable, and unique spirit,’ the statement reads.
They also added that: ‘News about memorial services [will] be issued forthcoming.’
It was first reported by TMZ that at the time he was gunned down on Monday afternoon, XXXTentacion was shopping for a motorcycle in South Florida.
But unfortunately, just as he was leaving the bike dealer, a yet unidentified man opened fire on his car.
Soon after the attack was reported, graphic footage of the young rapper unconscious in his vehicle started circulating on social media.
Although he was found in a coma and taken to the hospital, The Broward County Sheriff confirmed shortly after that XXXTentacion was gone from this world.
