The late rapper’s mother Cleopatra Bernard was in attendance at the American Music Awards earlier tonight and accepted a posthumous award on her son XXXTentacion’s behalf. Here’s what she had to say.
After she climbed the stage to receive the trophy, Cleopatra made it very clear that ‘I am so nervous you guys.’
She went on to graciously thank everyone for the great appreciation they have for the regretted artist’s music and message.
‘I’m honored to accept this award on behalf of my son. I’d like to thank the American Music Awards, his fans and everyone who made this possible. Thank you guys so much I really appreciate it.’
As fans know, XXXTentacion, his real name, Jahseh Onfroy, was tragically killed back in June at the age of only 20 years old.
The police have already confirmed that the talented rapper was fatally shot while in Deerfield Beach, Florida, and there is even surveillance camera footage of him getting gunned down in his car.
While X was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, in the end, the doctors were unable to do anything to save his life.
Ever since the shocking murder happened, the authorities have managed to arrest two people allegedly involved in X’s murder – Michael Boatwright and Dedrick Devonshay Williams.
