Apparently Will Young called time on his participation on Strictly Come Dancing. The reason? He and his partner for dancing, Karen Clifton, have been arguing for quite a while. The singer of Leave Right Now has apparently had enough with the Venezuelan professional dancer. It seem that they’ve been fighting during the rehearsals because she kept telling him what to do.
However, the official reason for which the 37-year-old left is “anxiety”, combined with “personal reasons”. The star is now preparing to give an interview on Friday, where he will talk about his serious fight with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
As it seems, he was already sick and tired of the way in which Karen kept telling him around. To this, he also felt the pressure of the huge workload they had on the show, which further added more tension and lead to him leaving the show.
According to an inside source, Karen just did her job as a trainer. Though she had good intentions, apparently Will did not stand being corrected all the time and being told off. Moreover, all this tension between them exhausted him, as the source claims. In the end, Will Young seemed to think that it wasn’t worth it the emotional exhaustion.
Despite this, a new interview with him came to light, where he talked about his emotional fight with PTSD, after confessing that indeed he withdrew from the BBC series because of his anxiety. The interview with London Live was shot before his performance on the ballroom floor, and he said that he was really unhappy there. Then he got PTSD and described his state of derealisation and depersonalization. Briefly, this meant that his body couldn’t take in all the emotions that flooded him from the past.
For breaching the contract, his paycheck for the show will now be $20,000 less.
