Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King Edmonds has announced in a blog post that she is expecting baby number two with her husband, former St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Jim Edmonds. She shared the news with her co-stars during the season 12 reunion, but at the time she was only a month along.
Now, she reveals she is ten weeks into her pregnancy, and she is “feeling every bit of it.” Amidst rumors that producers were not going to have her back next season, will the baby news help King-Edmonds keep her spot on the reality show?
According to Us Weekly, the 33-year-old wrote on her blog that she is pregnant with a baby boy who is due in June 2018. She added that it was difficult keeping the pregnancy a secret for so long since she shared every moment of her IVF journey with daughter Aspen on RHOC.
Meghan King Edmonds married her baseball player husband in October 2014, and the two welcomed their one-year-old daughter last November. The Bravo star shared that she and Edmonds – who has four older children from previous relationships – discussed expanding their family as soon as she gave birth to Aspen.
She started IVF treatments again late this past summer once baseball season ended. Edmonds is currently a color announcer for FOX Sports Midwest, which broadcast St. Louis Cardinals games.
King Edmonds produced ten mature fertilized eggs which all made it to the zygote stage. She has said in previous interviews that she wants to have five babies, adding that the birth of her daughter strengthened her marriage and helped them find a new respect for each other. She says it was almost like the two fell in love again.
The baby news comes in the midst of rumors that RHOC producers are considering a cast shake-up for the upcoming season, and that includes firing King Edmonds. All About the Real Housewives reports that producers are also considering getting rid of Peggy Sulahian and Lydia McLaughlin.
Is Meghan concerned about losing her orange? Not really. She even went so far as to tell AATRH that she doesn’t really respect her co-stars.
“You never know I guess but if I’m fired I wouldn’t miss the darkness and cloudy energy that comes with engaging with people whom you don’t hold in high regard or even respect for that matter.”
Bravo will not announce any cast changes until December, so it is possible that this new storyline with Meghan King Edmonds could save her from being fired. Fans will just have to wait a bit longer to find out.
