Will Britney Spears Get The Right To Eliminate Her Prior Conservatorship?
According to a report from Us Weekly, Britney Spears is getting ready to end her conservatorship following an independent expert evaluation regarding her mental health. The idea is to determine whether she has the faculty to take legal responsibility for herself.
On the 10th of May, Friday, Britney, 37, appeared before a judge to discuss her conservatorship, which means she would have to submit to a "730 evaluation." The source who spoke with the outlet claims Britney is looking to end the agreement and the 730 evaluation is the first foot forward in the process.
Her mother, however, Lynne Spears, supposedly isn't supportive of the plan, stating that she's not ok with Britney's decision, because she doesn't believe it's in her best interest. Regardless, she is powerless to stop it, because Britney is a grown woman.
On Friday, Us Weekly reported that the iconic pop star was at the courthouse with her mother. The hearing was actually closed to the public as well as the media. As fans of Spears know, her father, Jamie, has handled her conservatorship for eleven years, beginning in 2008.
On the 25th of April, Britney checked out of a mental health institution after seeking treatment. This was just a few months after she canceled her Las Vegas residency following complaints of stress and exhaustion due to her father's illness.
As it was previously reported, Britney canceled her residency in Sin City because of her father's ruptured colon. Months later, a hashtag of "free Britney" began on social media, with some people online suggesting that she was being held against her will.
However, Britney went on her Instagram to urge fans to stop sending her family death threats and other malevolent messages, adding that everything had grown wildly out of control. As most know, Britney's public breakdown in 2007 and 2008 has haunted her ever since.
After she shaved her head and had repeated altercations with the paparazzi, her legend has been forever associated with possible mental illness, as fans just aren't willing to forget.
