Although it has been a very long time since Whitney Houston and Paula Abdul were competing for the top spots on music charts, an upcoming documentary is revealing what the late singer felt about her rival. The film, titled simply Whitney, is set to premiere on July 6 and its trailer has been released.
In the clip, Houston can be seen talking to her mom about the struggles of fame, when she brings Abdul into the discussion.
‘One thing—Paula Abdul ain’t s**t. That girl is singing off-key on the record,’ Whitney slams the fellow star.
The trailer goes on to show a sneak peek into her rumored romance with Robyn Crawford, family drama, her problematic marriage to Bobby Brown as well as her addictions!
As far as her diss of Paula Abdul is concerned, it is not yet clear where the footage is coming from.
Over the images, one interviewee says: ‘Bobby was jealous. His heart was … he wanted to be on stage, he wanted to be in the forefront, and eventually she stepped down to lift him up.’
The film, directed by Kevin Macdonald promises an ‘unprecedented, unflinching and honest’ portrait of the regretted singer and it features interviews with many of her close pals and family members who were ready to tell all about Whitney on camera.
