Megyn Kelly is getting a multi-million payout as part of her exit from NBC, but most of her freelance staff are walking away empty handed.
The network has reportedly agreed to a $30 million settlement with the former Today host. With Kelly out the door, NBC decided to get rid of her studio, which means most of her former staffers are now jobless.
A source told Page Six that NBC could not afford keeping two studios. Although the network is keeping on the editorial and technical staff, everyone else is getting the boot.

Although a lot of Kelly’s staff members will lose their jobs, NBC is doing their best to find new work for them.
Kelly is reportedly close to signing a $30 million deal with NBC as part of her exit. The former Today host was fired after saying racist things about blackface on air.
After Kelly insinuated that blackface is okay during Halloween, her Today co-host Al Roker slammed her for insulting “folks of color” around the United States.
Roker then said that Kelly owes everyone in the country an apology and outlined why blackface is demeaning — even during Halloween. Kelly was dropped shortly after the comments aired.
After Kelly’s departure, NBC has filled her spot with several different co-hosts, including Roker, Dylan Dreier, Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Sheinelle Jones and Craig Melvin.
Kelly’s original contract with NBC was upwards of $69 million. She still had a few years left on her contract, and the network is willing to pay her what’s left if she agrees to certain terms.

“It’s taking slightly longer than expected, it’s not just about the money — it’s about the terms,” a source shared.
Despite the blackface scandal, experts believe that Kelly will return to television in the near future. In fact, many expect Kelly to take a brief break before returning before the start of the 2020 presidential election.
NBC has not commented on the negotiations with Megyn Kelly or the fate of her former staffers.
