Naomi Scott stuns in Disney’s Aladdin as she plays Jasmine in the live-action remake of the classic movie. Not only is Naomi Scott capturing the hearts of fans nationwide with her portrayal of the beloved Disney princess, but her song “Speechless” has gone viral. Performing the song as part of the official Aladdin soundtrack, Naomi delivers a beautiful performance that has made her the newest celebrated member of the Disney family.
Disney shared the video on their official Twitter account and gave a special shout out to the writing team for the song and tagged Naomi in the tweet.
“Watch the video for “Speechless,” the powerful, brand new song written by Disney legend @AIMenken and songwriters @pasekandpaul for #Aladdin’s Princess #Jasmine, @NaomiScott.”

Early reviews for Aladdin are very favorable. There was some initial fear that the movie wouldn’t leave up to its animated counterpart. Robin Williams delivered an iconic performance as the Genie and there was controversy surrounding Will Smith playing the part. It appears the fears were unfounded as Will Smith is gaining critical acclaim for his work.
Naomi Scott and Mena Massoud are the movie’s breakout stars and their popularity has skyrocketed since Aladdin’s release.
Those who see the new updated Aladdin will find that while the premise of the movie is the same as the 1992, Disney animated classic, the story has been modernized and given a bit of a feminist twist. Jasmine is having a hard time living in the male-oriented kingdom but when she meets Aladdin things are going to change drastically for her.
Did you see Aladdin in theaters this weekend? What did you think of Naomi Scott’s performance as Jasmine and Mena Massoud as Aladdin? What were your thoughts about Will Smith as Genie?
