Vanderpump Rules stars Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark got engaged last summer and are currently planning a destination wedding in Rome, Italy that will hopefully take place in October. But, with everything up in the air due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s possible they could just skip the big wedding and go straight to the baby-making.
The couple is currently self-isolating together at their new home in Los Angeles, and in a new interview Schroeder admitted that she and Clark haven’t been very careful during the lockdown and a quarantine baby is a possibility.
“We’ve been reckless,” Schroeder told Us Weekly this week. “Listen, I wouldn’t be mad.”
While Clark is on board with the idea of becoming a dad, the thought “still kind of scares” him because he “wouldn’t even be able to go to the hospital if this is still going on by the time [the baby is born],” which he says is “something to think about.”
Before Clark proposed in July 2019, Schroeder said that she was already trying to get pregnant. The Next Level Basic author revealed earlier this year that she decided before Clark proposed to take matters into her own hands. Schroeder explained that she was “seriously hoping” to get pregnant because that is more important to her than getting married.
The Straight Up with Stassi podcast host says that she can’t wait to be a mom. However, after Clark proposed, Schroeder changed her mind and started focusing on being a bride instead of having a baby.
“And then once I actually did become engaged, I’m like, ‘Well, I can’t be pregnant at my wedding.’ Like, I have to be able to get s–t-faced,” said Schroeder, adding that she wants to drink “all the Italian wine” at her reception while being able to fit into her dress.

I don’t normally write serious long captions, but I woke up feeling the most motivated I’ve ever felt. All of the women at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards truly made me feel like I can be doing so much more. The things I complain or whine about now feel embarrassingly absurd. I seeeeeriously urge you to go read about the incredible women who were honored last night. You might just read something that will shift your thinking and inspire you to get shit done for the world. Okay, thanks for reading this ted talk of a caption. #glamourwoty
But now that their wedding plans are uncertain, the couple has thrown caution to the wind. No matter which comes first – the baby or the wedding – Schroeder and Clark will be happy either way and they are on the “same page” about starting a family.
One month before Beau Clark asked Stassi Schroeder to marry him, she said that she felt like she was finally in a place in her life where she could make her own decisions and forge her own path.
Schroeder knows she wants to be a mom, and she says it is powerful to let women know that if that is something they want, they don’t have to wait to get married.
