A person has to appreciate the honesty of supermodel, Tyra Banks, who recently revealed that she had undergone plastic surgery at the beginning of her career. As it was previously reported, Tyra Banks said in an interview she had gotten a nose job at the start of her stint as a fashion model.
The America’s Next Top Model host is currently promoting her latest book; Perfect Is Boring, where she dishes on her rise to the top and also on the misconception of what’s called, “natural beauty.” Tyra realized late in life that every woman can look pretty, it’s all about fashion, makeup, and flattering camera angles.
Unfortunately, her nose started to get more awkward looking all the time, so she felt something had to be done. Tyra realized that she had two options, either fix it surgically or feature it as a unique physical trait.
When speaking with Hoda Kotb on the Today Show on the 2nd of March, Banks admitted she got some work done and feels if other women want to do the same thing, they can, there’s no harm in doing what makes you feel beautiful.
The model said she had broken her nose as a kid, and over time, it slowly grew out of proportion, so she had no option but to fix it.
Banks said as the years came and went, her nose slowly began to “grow sideways,” and she was always itching it. One day, her makeup artist encouraged her to get surgery after Tyra had admitted it was bothering her.
When speaking with her doctor, the man said it wasn’t necessary to get the surgery because it didn’t affect her ability to breath, so the changes made would be purely cosmetic.
However, Banks said the procedure was “cosmetic slash medical,” and she revealed the story because she wants other women to do the same if they think they would feel better about themselves. It’s about empowering women to do what makes them feel whole.
