The film industry seems to be really generous when it comes to Matt Lauer’s scandal in comparison with Kevin Spacey’s, for instance. We are referring to two movie roles, but it looks like the audience groaned during a screening that features the disgraced TV personality.
Everyone thought that Matt’s career was over after NBC fired him. The sex scandal rumors expanded, and his alleged affair with Natalie Morales resurfaced.
There was also reported the fact that Matt fathered two love children with other mistresses as well.
All those who believed that his career was over are now surprised to find out that Matt got not one but two film roles.
This comes as a really high contrast compared to what happened to Kevin Spacey whose career in film seems to be over.
Long story short, Matt’s TV exit could transform into a future in the film industry.
Entertainment Tonight just reported that even if so many details of Matt’s alleged sexual misconduct have surfaced, he is starring in two movies which are both earning really positive reviews.
‘Lauer, who was fired from the Today show on Nov. 29 for ‘inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace,’ actually appears in both Lady Bird and I, Tonya,’ according to Entertainment Tonight.
It’s bizarre how Matt gets to keep his film roles amid the whole sex scandal, and Kevin Spacey’s character got cut and redone by someone else. Matt will not lose either of his movie appearances.
On the other hand, according to New York Daily News, during a screening of Lady Bird, the audience groaned when they saw Matt on screen. The movie is about women, and Greta Gerwig is the director.
Nothing was able to save Matt from the audience’s reaction, and the viewers reacted strongly when they saw him. Reps for Lady Bird refused to make any comments regarding the situation.
