Tori Bates walked down the aisle on Saturday, and the Duggar family was in attendance on the big day! The Bringing Up Bates star is part of a family with no less than 19 kids, just like the Duggars who first started on 19 Kids and Counting, followed by Counting On.
That being said, as fans may already know, Tori is pretty close to the Duggar clan, especially with Jim Bob as well as Michelle’s son Joseph.
Tori married Bobby Smith, and the wedding took place in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The happy couple called it ‘the wedding of our dreams,’ adding that ‘We are so grateful to God for His love and the love and support we received from our family and friends helping us celebrate this magical day. We could not be any happier about sharing the rest of our lives together.’
Apparently, the group of people attending the ceremony at Calvary Baptist Church amounted to no less than 700 guests!
The Duggars were there as well except for Jinger, who is married and living in Texas.
We have learned that the wedding was holiday-themed, and the church was therefore decorated with Christmas trees grown on the Bates family farm!
In addition, it looks like Tori chose to be a bit of a rebel despite her conservative family and walked down the aisle to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, which contrasted to the Bates’ usual family traditions.
It seemed like no one really minded though as her dad Pastor Gil officiated the union.
During the ceremony, Bobby reportedly cried which made Tori giggle and then joke that she was messing up the emotional moment.
‘It’s your day; you are not messing anything up. I am proud of both of you,’ her dad told her.
Congratulations Tori and Bobby!
