There is a risk when it comes to making a list with popular sports movies and then see whether they are really classics or not. We have to admit that it’s hard to make such a selection, especially when you’re emotionally attached to one movie or another.
.Rocky. One of the classics when it comes to manly sports, Rocky remains a great movie. However, despite having countless sequels and rip-offs, the first movie remains the most interesting one and the one that gained our hearts forever.
.Miracle. As the title says, it tells the repeated story of believing in yourself until the end. However, though it’s great if you see it once, it doesn’t stay with you and you might quickly forget it.
.White Men Can’t Jump. Made in 1992, the film stars Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes. This is a movie that is interesting from start to end and it has some lines that stick to you even long after you’ve seen it.

.He Got Game. Produced in 1998, this movie presents Milla Jovovich, Ray Allen and Denzel Washington. Directed by Spike Lee, it tells the dramatic story of a felon who gets a one-week parole and he wants to convince his son to sign with the local team. There’s also some humor involved, enough so as to make you rewatch it someday.
.Space Jam. The 1996 production is perhaps the most loved sports movie in the entire history. Starring Michael Jordan, Theresa Randle and Wayne Knight, it also shows lots of animated characters from Warner Brothers. However, the plot is pretty thin and the acting is not so amazing after all. What would indeed convince people to see it again would be the fact that they remember it, but honestly, it wouldn’t pass the test of time.
