YouTube content creators Phillip Wang and Wesley Chan have been into the new media business production for years, making their ‘Wong Fu Productions’ one of the OG YouTube channels. Their success has been steadily rising and their passion for telling stories in film form led to many iconic videos to be posted and shared with the world.
The most recent production from the two is “Single by 30” a show that is currently on the YouTube Red platform. This web series is what brought Television and Internet together in such an epic way. Tom Hanks and Wong Fu collabing? That’s one for the history books – or E-books.
Actor Tom Hanks and director Ron Howard, co-founder of New Form Digital, the production studio behind “Single by 30” finally met up with Wong Fu in Italy.
The mission of the visit was, hilariously enough, to get Hanks to rap his iconic “shimmy shimmy cocoa pop” verse that his character did in the 1988 classic movie “Big”. The actor took the challenge with no restraints and the result was spectacular.
Wong Fu Productions of course had only good things to say about the fateful meeting and they seemed even a bit star struck with both the widely acclaimed actor and director Ron Howard.
The two expressed how overwhelmed and honored they were to meet them in a note accompanying the video they posted on their channel. “These two are living legends and it was an honour to meet them in person and encouraging to see how humble and kind they were. We really have not been this nervous in years. Thank you Tom and Ron for all you’ve given us over the years.
Hilariously enough the video was called “Rapping with Tom Hanks!” Now that is a title to gather many clicks for sure.
